"It is when we are in transition, that we are most completely alive." -- William Bridges
THREE LIVE, 2-hour, Online Circle Gatherings
December 28th, January 25th, February 22nd (9pm est)
Join Terri as she guides you through the THREE PHASES OF TRANSITION: Endings, the Liminal Space, and Visioning the Future.
As women, our lives are a constant series of transitions as we move from one stage of life to another. This is unavoidable. Some of the changes we experience are driven by our biology. Some of the change is physical and psychological as we raise families, navigate careers, retire, address health issues, and care for aging parents. And, sometimes change occurs when our belief systems and how we think life is "supposed to work" are challenged.
It all adds up to being in a constant state of change.
Yet, how many of us navigate the external events in our lives by "getting right back up" when life knocks us down? When external change occurs in our lives, there lies within those moments great opportunity for growth and learning. Yet, this opportunity is often by-passed.
Every external event contains within it the opportunity to learn and know ourselves in a new and deeper way. They present us with circumstances that can open our blind spots. They can help us to see what is real and what is false, helping us to remove the blinders which keep us in our comfort zone and repeating self-defeating patterns.
The Art of Navigating Transitions helps women of all ages to respond to life's changes and curve balls with skill and grace. You will learn to "feel and release", find comfort in the not knowing, and create new beginnings that are aligned with your heart, values, and purpose.
We will gather in Sacred Circle where you bring attention and intention to the three unique phases of transition. In this way, you can bring the best of yourself to changes that are occuring in your life.
Each Circle will focus on one of the three phases of transition. You will delve into the meaning of your own transitions as we work together through setting intention, ritual, written journaling, engaging with imagery, and more.
Whether the transitions you're experiencing relate to family, career, health, seasons, or life stage, our Sacred Gatherings will support you to navigate each stage with your heart, mind, choicefulness, and creativity.
Note: The majority of our work will be done during the Live Retreats. There will be minimal pre-work and light integration work.
Join me in this life-affirming program where you will be supported and held within the container of our women's circle as you do the work to close 2018 with what needs to be released, enter the Liminal Space of not-yet-knowing, and then begin the new year by taking a design approach. Learn more about the three Circles below.
DECEMBER 28th, CIRCLE 1 - ENDINGS:
“Before people can begin something new, they have to end what used to be and unlearn the old way.” -- William Bridges
Endings must be dealt with if we are to move on to whatever comes next in our lives. The new cannot come in when we are still acting out of old habits, attitudes, and outlooks. A clear process is needed.
We learn that all endings hold meaning - even the ones that we think we're "better off without" and that all endings require process and integration. I also will share with you the five aspects of natural endings based on the work of William Bridges.
In this Circle, you will identify the ending that you want to work with and process that ending through a variety of exercises.
We will also introduce rituals during this Circle, which much of our modern society has lost. Ritual prepares us for endings and helps us to integrate the lessons of the ending psychologically and somatically.
JANUARY 25th, CIRCLE 2 - THE LIMINAL SPACE:
“… It is when you have left the tried and true, but have not yet been able to replace it with anything else. It is when you are between your old comfort zone and any possible new answer. If you are not trained in how to hold anxiety, how to live with ambiguity, how to entrust and wait, you will run…anything to flee this terrible cloud of unknowing.” --Richard Rohr
One of the difficulties of being in transition in the modern world is that we have lost an appreciation for the gaps in the continuity of our experiences. The gaps are frequently voids to be filled as quickly as possible. Like coming to a river bank and looking for the fastest possible boat to carry us to the other side. We may feel lost, floundering, distressed, or confused. We want to rid ourselves of these uncomfortable emotions as soon as possible.
The Liminal Space provides us with a time of renewal as we retreat from the outer world into the richness of our inner world. We learn to surrender to this state and all that if offers, rather than try to escape it. It is during this in-between time that we gain new perspective. Viewed from the Liminal Space, we learn the unknowlable ground upon which we have constructed our lives. The way in is the way out.
During this Circle you will work through exercises that explore your character strengths and create a self-care care plan so that you are sustained you during transitions. You will also receive practical and creative suggestions for mining all that you can learn during this period.
FEBRUARY 22nd, CIRCLE 3 - VISIONING THE FUTURE:
"What you actually do within twenty-four hours of having a creative idea will spell the difference between success and failure." --R. Buckminster Fuller, Inventor, designer, and philosopher
You have now acquired the habit of listening to your heart and giving voice to your experience.
Visioning the Future begins with us, even when it is brought into our awareness through external opportunities. It is out of the formlessness of the Liminal Space that our creativity gains momentum and new form can emerge.
You will begin by naming your heart's desire and translating it into pictures and words on paper. We take a design approach.
Your Visioning collage will be a kind of storyboard or blueprint for the life you want to create as you connect to your Creative Self, affirm what you want, apply the Ten Principles of Design to bring your vision into reality.
In the Live Circle Gatherings, Terri will guide you as you work with your own life circumstances to:
- Understand the purpose and lessons of each stage of transition,
- Learn your pattern of resistance,
- Use your character strengths to help you navigate the three stages,
- Create a support structure to maintain resiliency during ambiguity and uncertainty,
- Find new paths, purpose, and passion,
- Experience closure and completion,
- Find your inner vision,
- Turn your wishes into physical reality,
- The opportunity to be supported and to support other women.

“Terri has created one of the best online learning platforms I have experienced. She is an excellent coach, facilitator, and learning leader and throughout the course she gently guided us through our personal development journey. The tools and resources she created allowed all of us to have a safe space to do some really deep work. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone that might feel stuck in life or is ready to tackle that self-improvement goal that has proven to be elusive. She is the best!”Linda D., Coach
“I sought out working with Terri at a point in my life where I realized I needed to make a significant change of direction in my life and career. It was time to learn to contribute back to the greater good from my heart, not my head. Terri taught me to look deeply inside myself for the answers, and to trust who I am in my reinvention. Her valuable knowledge, training as a coach, but most of all, her compassion and personal authenticity made this an enriching process of personal growth for me, and allowed me to unhook from so many fears and insecurities that I had been carrying for too long!”Connie O., University Professor

“There is just something so powerful about women including other women in their lives in this way and taking this life lesson journey together. I am grateful to Terri for putting this outstanding program together, her fantastic facilitation and all my cohort friends for our new relationships. There is magic when women from different countries, different stages of life and different socio-economic groups come together in this way. It is a real gift that Terri has given us!”Rosie A., Director OD
